You've come a long way baby...

Here is a little update to yesterdays file. I tried to implement day and night zones, but this is probably not correct for Oslo in winter. I did not find a good formula to calculate this shape yet.

I also impoved the positioning of the info box, the text is selectable now and the data is cached to reduce the amount of queries to the server.

[UPDATE - I moved the flash file into the MORE part as there is a new version]

Excellent toy - damn fine work.

Next stage would be to link to more detailed maps :) Check out our site and you'll see what I mean - the Mapping is Flash - PHP - MySQL. Based on a large project for GPS vehicle tracking system for company in Bangkok, Thailand. The data system might not be fully functional at present - I've been updating a little recently and might have broken it :(

Flash MX version coming soon - honestly!

BTW your thing works fine for Phuket, Thailand - even though the location appears somewhat off the mark :)

I spent ages getting the Longitude and Latitude stuff to work correctly, but then again I was working with a prefessionall mapper.

Brilliant, if creepy.

Like Dave, you got the location right; Ile De France (ie Paris) but the visual location puts me somewhere in Normandy.

Congrats on a fine job and a fine example of Flash's capabilities.

Thank you very much. For the positioning you should have a look at the latest version (follow the link "new version"). I hope that one gives better results.

I would like to use "world map locator" on my web page. Can I?
