Another update to the "Where do you come from?" worldmap. And this time you can already see where this could be going: I added the locations of the last 20 visitors to the map. Roll over the dots and you get some detailed info about them in the top line. The shade of the countries changes depending on how many people came from there.
I also tried to include a zoom and pan function, but that does not yet work perfect.
[UPDATE - I moved the flash file into the MORE part as there is a new version]
very cool indeed. there is a little bug though... the 'ctrl' key on the mac doubles as a right-click button enabler (since most macs don't come with right-click buttons, it turns the entire mouse into the right-clicker when 'ctrl' is pressed down).
so, when trying to zoom out (using ctrl-shift) on the mac, it displays the pop-up box one encounters by right-clicking.
I just made a little update: I exchanged the CTRL with the "A" key (which is located close to the SHIFT key). Also I tweaked the scaling factors a bit so now the city locations should be closer to their real positions.
I noticed that the pan (using the bar) tends to run kinda slow. What about having the movie switch to low-quality when is pressed, and return to high-quality when is released? That would run smoother. Detail is not *as* important when moving around.
