Of course this HTML implementation of the Amazon.com search kit is much faster than my flash version will ever be, but that's not the idea behind this experiment. I don't expect to design a better amazon, it's more playing with the possibilities.
I'm currently trying to implement some things that you will have difficulties to do in HTML. The whole idea is to have something like a table where all these books, CDs etc are lying around. Now you can make little heaps of stuff that interests you, throw away uninteresting stuff, see the connections, perhaps discover things you were not expecting and have an overall playful experience.
Also I'm trying to implement some interesting ways of sorting - at the moment the canvas is built like a 2 dimensional chart: the x-axis is the price and the y-axis is the average rating. This is still very alpha and everything falls apart as soon as you start dragging the stuff. At least now you can even go and BUY something by doubleclicking on the pictures.
More soon in this theatre...
