Even though I'm living in Germany my contacts to the local Flash scene have been little to none until now. So the shockwards conference was a great opportunity to meet some well-known members of the scene face-to-face:
Danny Franzreb showed some behind-the-scenes stuff from Taobot and presented his latest upcoming project. Also I learned about the BD4D site - By Designers For Designers arrange worldwide get-togethers of designers, too bad that I missed the Frankfurt event in September....
Powerflasher Carlo Blatz impressed with some real fast 3D stuff and their Flash Add-On plugin PowerRESOLUT that uses DirectX to speed up games or other full-screen apps considerably.
Holger Eggert from The Screen Collective - an expert in sounddesign lives in Munich like I do and still I didn't get to know him yet which is double amazing as we have even one more thing in common - the "collective" in our companies' name.
Finally I had a train ride with Stephan Prestele, Marketing Manager of Macromedia Central Europe which brought me some insight into upcoming MM products, but unfortunately sealed my mouth shut...
