As I removed the candle from the sidebar I put this here for archiving purposes.
Control wind partially with mouse so that it is possible to blow out candle to produce smoke.
Other suggestions candle wax dips and slowly burning down, that way people have to keep your site open for a long time to see the candle burning down and distorting.
Just lit up a candle and had a look, there is a blue tinge on the bottom curve of the flame edge.
The glo around the edge is currently based around the bottom of the flame, it was hard to tell if it is like that on a real candle (I only had the old gnarld one to look at) but I suspect the glo should be centered about the middle of the flame more?
Whoa - detailed candle critique, thanks! I know this is far from finished, I just had to stop because otherwise candle season is over (and unfortunately I have some real work to do, too)....
You can already play a little bit with the mouse, but I'm not yet satisfied with the reaction of the flame.
Smoke and dripping wax would be great and I will see if I can create something convincing.

I was wondering perhaps you can give some basic tutorial as to how it might be possible to re-create something of this sort. I would truly appreciate it.
