Debugging Flash files outside the IDE is not really a positive experience using the tools that you find in the box. Actually I think it's quite horrible. Probably most of us professional developers have built their own tools or suites to work around this. So have the Powerflashers, probably one of the most successful Flash developer groups in Germany (at least one of the loudest ;-) - they have released POWERFLASHER.SOS a socket server based debugging console which can transmit messages from the live system to the developer in a very fast way. It can even serve those message to multiple clients and is highly customizable.
The tool is free and released as Jobware - this means that the Powerflashers are always interested in hiring professional developers.
