Flash as an Illustration Tool

Just when you think that "everything has been done" in Flash somebody comes along and creates something that makes your jaw drop. This time it's Jerome Birembaut who has created a very very realistic vector illustration of a girl's face - not in Illustrator, but in Flash. Stunning!

As nice as this picture is, I am guessing it really wasn't originally done in Flash, but exported from Illustrator or Freehand. The inordinate amout of sequentially numbered symbols in the library suggest the symbols were imported. Also, becuase every element is it's own symbol (each eyelash etc...) it wouldn't be a very efficient way to draw in flash... you would have made one symbol of many eyelashes...not a zillion and put them together....
